National Open Shore Angling Championships - 2000
VENUE: - White Horses section of Pevensey
Bay, near Eastbourne.
This is
a popular venue for National Organisation Championships.
DATE: - Saturday 21st October
2000.
TIME: - 13.30
- 19.30 (Note we are fishing into
darkness - some artificial light may be required).
ELIGIBILITY:
- Open to IRSA members for trophies and CSSC colleagues
welcome as guests for optional pools only.
COMPETITION:
- Trophies for Heaviest Bag and Heaviest Fish with replicas
for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each category.
HIGH TIDE: - 18.30
BEACH: - Typical South Coast shingle beach
with some sand. Clean bottom.
TACKLE: - Beach caster, 15lb line, 5oz grip
lead with 3 hook paternoster trace.
BAIT: - Local
Black Lug, Blow lug, or White Rag tipped with Mackerel or Squid. Others such as crab, harbour (but not king)
rag may be worth a try.
SPECIES:
- Whiting, Pouting, Flounders, Dabs, with possibility
of late Plaice and early Codling.
Other
information: - It is hoped that the weigh in will
take place at local fishermen’s club and that meal or buffet will be available
after weigh in at the club and that and trophies will be presented there.
Accommodation
will be booked in nearby Eastbourne on B&B Basis if required.
Local
black lug is favoured bait (dug from venue beach), tipped with mackerel or
squid can be obtained from following local tackle shops.

Pools
are optional and are expected to be £2.00 per entrant, per category.

As in previous years the IRSA will be arranging for a team to attend the
CSSC National Open Championships to be held at Otterspool, Merseyside. More details to follow.
