HASSRA WAter Polo Team

Water Pol

Water Polo Tournament

24 players turned out for the water polo championships tournament making up four teams playing a round robin on the Thursday morning. The only complete team (HASSRA) beat teams A and C both by 10 goals to 2 and drew their third match with team B 6 goals each.

On the Friday morning we were hoping to put up a CSSC team selected from the tournament against the Royal Signals Team but unfortunately they were unable to attend. This however did give us the opportunity to play a full game with CSSC competitors and will have given the water polo secretary plenty to think bout when choosing his team to play in the Triangular at Aldershot on 20 & 21st September.

Competitors taking part in teh diving invitational

Diving Invitational

RAF divers turned out in force to support our second annual diving invitational event as well as providing additional competition during our diving championships. The invitational included both firm board and spring board events and in categories suitable for both novices as well as more proficient competitors. Results

On the Friday morning we also held a diving 'taster event' for CSSC members to try the boards out and get some instruction from experienced divers. Our divers will be competing for the CSSC ASA at the Triangular at Aldershot on 20 & 21st September.

Officials and helpers

Officials

A grateful thanks to all ASA Officials and helpers who worked hard and combined to make the event possible. We have a really good team and with several new members joining the team this year for the first time it was probably the most officials we have had available for years!

Ponds Forge

Fancy Dress in the Centenary Style

It's fun and games at the CSSC GAMES with fancy dress in the water as well as at the evening entertainment. The great CSSC sporting and social event of the year! Don't miss out!

CSSC ASA to take part in the 2011 CSSC Games at Loughborough

It was announced that the CSSC ASA have again been invited to the CSSC Games at Loughborough on 15 and 16 September 2011. Very much an experiment in 2009 the event was held over one day and attracted 6 teams of six. the competitors had a hard day getting through 23 individual and team events in just over 4 hours but with hopefully further interest for the 2011 event the competition will be held over 2 half days. Team events include push me pull you and pass the ball with very much the emphasis on fun and leisure side of swimming. Many competitors went to great lengths to dress up in the Centenary Style swimming events for both men and women in 2009 and it is proposed to keep this event in future years.

There was a great atmosphere at the Games with nearly 2,000 competitors and volunteers making the whole experience very enjoyable. To see results and photos of the 2009 event ....   Results   Photos (password cssc0209)
