The Victrix and Vitor Ludorum were both won by newcommers Megan Green and Josh Morgan (both RCSL) see photo left.

CSSC ASA May 2016

Ron Bowrage was presented with the CSSC's Certificate of Recognition which is presented to volunteers who have made a noteworthy difference in his or her voluntary contribution to the local CSSC membership. In Ron's case he has been the CSSC ASA's Trophy Secretary for 45 years before stepping down at the Championships in 2014. However, Ron has also stayed on to help us out as Assistant Trophy Secretary to help ease our new trophy Secretary into her new role.

It is also Ron's 80th birthday this month so many happy returns and many many thanks for all your hard work on our behalf over the past 45 plus years!

Open Water Swimming

CSSC ASA - January 2013

There is some bad news: - Due to financial cutbacks the ASA, just like all other CSSC major sports bodies that have previously taken part in representative matches, will no longer be able to take part in any future representative matches. In addition, and also due to financial constraints CSSC has not invited the ASA to hold a gala at this years CSSC Games. This is all very disappointing news to us but at least there is a glimmer of good news for us to share with you.

The CSSC has added Open Water Swimming to the activity support scheme for 2013.

Thankfully we still have our championships (9 & 10 May at Ponds Forge) and our open Water Championships at Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre, near Norwich on 14 July to look forward to. Find our more...

RESULTS of ESCA, RCSL and HOSSA Swimming Championships 2011

The European Customs Gala takes place every two years, last being held in Helsinki. This year it as the turn of the United Kingdom to hold it and it was held in conjunction with our RCSL and HOSSA Swimming Championships at the Surrey Sports Park, Guildford on 7th October 2011. With three competitions in one gala it was a hectic day for the officials. It was good to see competitors coming along from Finland, Hungary, Netherlands and Turkey. The event was opened by Mike Eland, Director general of HMRC's Enforcement and Compliance. The competition was to a high standard with no less than 22 records being broken in the RCSL competition alone. Find out more about how ESCA is promoting sport among countries in the EU here.....

SHARQ ATTACK at CSSC GAMES - 15 & 16 September 2011

The SHARQS team bit quite a chunk of the medal haul between them at the ASA Championships, held as part of the CSSC GAMES, at Loughborough University. The team made up of Lyndsey, Rhian, Tony, Ian, Chris and Sam broke four team records and one longstanding individual masters record that had stood for 13 years before taking away with them a large medal haul. The team also beat DSRA (2nd) and HASSRA (3rd) to get the best overall team points total.

CSSC ASA Open Water Swimming Championships 17 July 2011

A brand new event for CSSC swimmers in 2010 was the Open Water Swimming Championships held at Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre, Whitlingham Lane, Trowse, Norwich. NR14 8TR, in July 2010. In 2011 they were held again at the same venue on Sunday 17th July.

Our championships are held in conjunction with the East Region Open Water ASA & Age Group Championships and we greatly appreciate Eastern Region's offer to let us piggy back their event. We will be again offering CSSC age group entrants medals in the 1,500m and 3,000m events which have in the past been run together from a staggered start so it's a choice - one or the other! You will need to have a ASA category 2 membership to take part.

CSSC ASA takes part in the 2009 CSSC Games at Loughborough

Tony Hotckin the 2007 winner came first again with a haul of 3 fish for 3lb 12oz. Full results
