NOSAC 2007
Organiser -
Barry Davies
Venue: Deal, Near Dover, Kent
Date: Saturday 17 November 2007
Time: TBA
Entry: £5.00
Local Organisers - Tony Wooding & Jason
Swinerd - their report......
We have identified the best date for next year
to be Saturday 17th of November. High tide is around 1530 so the competition
would fish the tide up and over high water. The venue hosts the British Open
every year so it is known to be a fruitful place to fish.
There is a pier but the beach will be a better option - shingle with a steep
shelf (similar to Chesil beach in Dorset). Recent catches have included Codling,
Whiting and some excellent Bass (several double figures including one of 15lbs).
The best spot will be fishing approx half a mile from the pier towards Thanet,
near to Sandown Castle - fishing is comfortable and cars can be parked close to
the beach.
A back up would be the beach at Hythe as if the venue at Deal is blown out it
usually means that Hythe (around the corner if you look at a map of the area)
will fish ok.

Trophies and pools
There are individual trophies for heaviest bag, round and
flat, for first place through to third. The individual entry fee (£5.00)
along with any profits from our raffles is spent on tackle prizes for
these places.
In addition, we have optional pools (£1.00 each pool), again split
between the top three places.
|
Optional team competition
As an optional extra we hold a team (of three) competition to add interest with the entry fees (£1.00 per team member)
paying for replica trophies. There is also an optional team pool (£1.00
per member).

Our history
The CSSC NOSAC has evolved from the Individual Codling
Championships that were held in Dover in 1993 and was first recognised by the
CSSC as a national CSSC event in 1999. From 2005 the CSSC is
providing a grant to help run our event in our own right. Being an 'open competition' no
qualification is necessary and all CSSC members are welcome to come along
and take part. Over the years the event has developed into an
excellent social as well as sporting event, being held at venues around
the shores of mainland Britain each year, usually in October or November.

Organiser -

Was held at Otterspool, Merseyside on Saturday 11 November
between 11.00 & 17.00. Thirty One competitors started this event.
Congratulations to those who managed to put up with the extreme windy conditions
and caught fish. It was not easy fishing and those in among the trophies had to
work hard for them.

NOSAC 2005
Was held at the north beach Bridlington.
What a wonderful venue but the weather was not kind to us whipping up a gale for
two days preceding the match. Many competitors spent a lot of time in the bar as
the weed in the water from the storm made fishing almost impossible. Well done
to the three lads who managed to land a fish and in particular Steve Ball for
winning it and scooping the prizes!
Results: (only three fish landed)
1 Steve Ball Hassra North West - Whiting 32 cm
2 Adrian Thomas RCSL - Bass - 30 cm
3 Simon Saunders RCSL - Bass - 29 cm
